I’m Lisa and my journey has led me to become a life coach. Why? Why choose life coaching after more then 25 years in human resources? I have a huge desire to work with women, to connect with them, to share their journey. Life coaching is what I plan to do in my “second half,” along with finding more freedom in life. Freedom to actually enjoy life instead of being run by it.
If you want to get a feel for who I am, read and follow my blog. What am I doing writing a blog? Good question. I believe that there’s more to life than the way I’ve been living. Safe, responsible, secure, all good things. But like all good things, there is a flip side. For me, I’m serious, a lot…I’d say all the time but I don’t like that and don’t want to own it. I’m trying to relax, to enjoy, to have a lot more fun, to be happy. Happiness is a choice and it’s one I’m making.
What else? Covered the “nearing middle age” thing. I could attach a lot of labels, wife (quite a story on that), mom, daughter…a lot more, but I’m not a fan of labels. I like yoga, I dislike stretching, I like to ride my bike and walk, to write…I love coffee and so much more you may hear about.
I have a lot to say about my life’s adventures. I think you just have to show up and let go of the “should’s” the lies we all tell ourselves about how we should look, act, perform, all the things that limit us from the life God planned for us. We can all come up with reasons why we can’t do what we want to do, but it’s really just excuses, which are really just lies to squirm out of responsibility for who we are or what we’ve done. I’m all for pushing that aside and living to my fullest potential. The trick is, it’s not a destination I’ve arrived at, I’m still working on getting there. I think we all are.
So you still might wonder what am I doing writing a blog? I’m having fun, I’m processing out loud, I’m taking chances, I’m being vulnerable, I’m being BRAVE. Thanks for dropping in for my journey.
