Dare to Lead™ Training

Dare to LeadDare to Lead™

There’s no doubt each of us will remember 2020 as the year that threw us for a loop. Providing vast amounts of time to pause, reflect and consider how we want to walk out our personal and professional lives.

I started that journey a few years ago, and during the early phases, stumbled across the work of Dr. Brené Brown. The Gifts of Imperfection was my introduction and I knew I’d fallen into a rabbit hole. When Dare to Lead™ was introduced in 2018, I devoured it and nearly burst upon learning that Brené planned to certify individuals to facilitate a program based on the book. I’m certain I was one of the first to send in my application (and fee, she doesn’t mess around with those who are merely curious), and after a lengthy vetting process, I received the email I’d waited for, I’d been chosen. In July 2019, I became certified to facilitate the Dare to Lead™ course.

Because Brené’s work is research based, she and her team have continued to iterate and have recently released the second version. I lead groups through the expanded 24 hour curriculum. I’ve seen it and it’s richer, deeper and will provide you with a more thorough understanding of the work and how to apply it in your life. To say this work is life changing is and understatement.  Dare to Lead™ challenges you to shift your mindset around work, to consider how your values, shame, trust, vulnerability, the stories we tell, and learning to rise come together to create courageous leaders, at work, at home and as individuals. You’ll walk away understanding the four skill sets of courage and how to apply them in your life, and so much more. Given that I coach with women at Be Brave Coaching, the course I facilitate are for women. I create a space where we can dig into issues that specifically challenge us as we navigate our ways through the workplace and our relationships. Contact me for more information.

About the Dare To Lead Program
Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program designed to be facilitated by organizational development professionals.

Brené is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Foundation – Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy, and most recently completed a seven-year study on courageous leadership. She is the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and Dare to Lead™, which also debuted at #1 on The Wall Street Journal and Publisher’s Weekly lists.
The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. The Dare to Lead™ program focuses on developing these courage-building skills through workshops, trainings, and coaching to help individuals, teams, and organizations move from armored leadership to daring leadership.

Individuals who successfully complete the full 24-hour Dare to Lead program will receive a certificate of completion and are allowed to put a Dare to Lead™ Trained badge on their LinkedIn account.
